About the Opportunity
Urgent Care Talent Solutions is supporting a growing, multi-state healthcare organization in a confidential search for a Senior Director of Business Development. The hiring organization will be disclosed to qualified candidates during the recruitment process.
Position Summary
The Senior Director of Business Development will serve as the strategic growth leader for the organization’s post-acute services division. This executive will drive enterprise-wide market expansion, referral growth, revenue optimization, and strategic partnerships across multiple states while strengthening the organization’s market position and supporting its long-term business objectives.
Based in Texas, this position provides leadership for all Post-Acute Business Development operations across the organization. The Senior Director will directly oversee market development teams in multiple states, and all Post-Acute Business Development personnel will report through this role.
Working closely with executive leadership, operational leaders, clinical teams, and external stakeholders, this leader will identify emerging opportunities, advance innovation, and support sustained growth in a dynamic healthcare environment. Success requires deep expertise in post-acute care, healthcare market dynamics, sales and marketing strategy, payer strategy, and multi-site operations.
Key Responsibilities
Enterprise Growth Strategy and Market Development
- Develop and execute enterprise-wide business development strategies that drive sustainable growth, market expansion, and revenue performance.
- Identify, evaluate, and lead new market opportunities, acquisitions, joint ventures, strategic alliances, and service-line expansions.
- Collaborate with executive leadership on long-range growth planning and organizational strategy.
- Analyze market intelligence, competitive trends, reimbursement changes, and regulatory developments to proactively position the organization for growth.
- Establish annual and multi-year growth objectives aligned with organizational priorities and financial goals.
Strategic Partnerships and Network Development
- Build and maintain executive-level relationships with health systems, hospitals, physician groups, accountable care organizations, payers, and community partners.
- Lead the negotiation and development of preferred-provider agreements, strategic partnerships, and value-based care collaborations.
- Serve as the primary executive representative for post-acute business development initiatives across key markets.
- Foster referral-source engagement through executive business reviews, strategic planning sessions, and performance discussions.
- Expand organizational influence through participation in healthcare networks, industry associations, and regional market initiatives.
Revenue Growth and Performance Optimization
- Drive organizational census growth through data-driven business development strategies and market-penetration initiatives.
- Partner with operational and clinical leadership to align growth objectives with quality outcomes, patient satisfaction, and workforce capacity.
- Develop and monitor key performance metrics related to referrals, admissions, conversion rates, revenue growth, and market share.
- Identify barriers to growth and implement innovative solutions to improve referral capture and conversion performance.
- Ensure accountability for achieving growth targets across all regions and service lines.
Leadership and Team Development
- Provide strategic leadership and oversight for all Post-Acute Business Development personnel across multiple states.
- Build, mentor, and develop high-performing business development teams focused on accountability, collaboration, and results.
- Establish performance expectations, succession-planning initiatives, and professional-development programs.
- Foster a culture of innovation, customer-service excellence, and continuous improvement.
- Lead organizational change initiatives related to growth, market expansion, and business development operations.
Executive Reporting and Business Analytics
- Deliver executive-level reporting and strategic recommendations to senior leadership regarding growth performance, market opportunities, and competitive positioning.
- Utilize CRM platforms, analytics tools, and market intelligence data to assess trends and inform strategic decision-making.
- Monitor organizational performance against business development goals and recommend corrective actions as needed.
- Present growth strategies, performance outcomes, and business opportunities to executive leadership and key stakeholders.
Brand Advancement and External Relations
- Partner with marketing and executive leaders to strengthen organizational visibility, brand awareness, and market presence.
- Represent the organization at industry conferences, healthcare associations, community events, and strategic networking opportunities.
- Ensure all business development activities and communications align with organizational values, compliance standards, and brand strategy.
- Act as a thought leader and ambassador for the organization within the healthcare community.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7–10 years of progressive business development leadership experience in healthcare, post-acute care, or related services.
- Demonstrated success leading multi-state growth initiatives and high-performing business development teams.
- Proven track record of achieving significant growth, revenue expansion, and market-share gains.
- Strong experience developing strategic partnerships with health systems, physicians, payers, and community organizations.
- Exceptional leadership, negotiation, communication, and executive presentation skills.
- Ability to manage complex initiatives and influence stakeholders across all levels of the organization.
- Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Public Health, or a related discipline (Preferred) .
- Experience with value-based care models, managed-care contracting, and payer strategy (Preferred).
- Experience leading business development efforts within multi-state healthcare organizations (Preferred).
Travel Requirements
- Extensive travel throughout multiple states and other organizational markets is required.
- Must be able to travel up to 70+% based on business needs.
Working Conditions
- Work is performed in a fast-paced healthcare environment requiring frequent interaction with executive leaders, healthcare providers, referral sources, and community stakeholders.
- The position is subject to multiple priorities, changing business conditions, and time-sensitive initiatives.
